filing a 2019 tax return by mail before feb 12th...help!!!

My boyfriend went through a messy divorce and come to find out she never filed his taxes for 2019. We are going this weekend to file through a company but then they will give us everything to print off and mail to the IRS to process it because they won't do e-file for 2019 anymore. I will be using a certified overnight way to get it to the IRS. my next question is will they wait till the 12th to process it? and if so how long does that take to do a mailed file. i'm not worried about how long it will take to get the money, i just want to know how long it takes for it to be in their system showing we filed his taxes.

We cannot tell you long long it will take the IRS to process the 2019 return you are about to mail. It could take months. Make sure you use a mailing service that will let you know that it was received. A 2019 return is not going to even show up on the IRS refund site--they will only be showing 2020 returns. The IRS is backlogged and there are people still waiting for refunds from 2019 returns mailed months ago. Sorry. All you can do is be patient.
