Question

Filing a MD State return for a deceased person and getting a refund

I want to e-file a MD State tax return (502) for my deceased mother and I need to attach IRS Form 1310 to claim a refund.  Is there a way in TT to do this when e-filing the return with the state or do I need to submit a paper return?

Form 1310 is created for the Federal return but it isn't part of the state return.

Thank you.

No, there is no way to attach Form 1310 to a Maryland tax return and e-file it.  You will have to print the return and mail it.  For instructions on how to file a return for a deceased taxpayer, See page 23 of 2024 State & Local Tax Forms & Instructions for Maryland.
