Filing in the state of Idaho and cannot verify identity because of my out of state ID is not being accepted

Yes, Idaho is taking extra steps to verify the identity of taxpayers this year. I assume you received an ID verification letter asking for documents only?

 

If that is the case, there are other forms of ID that are acceptable, including:

 

  • Driver’s license or Star Card (current or expired less than a year)
  • Idaho identification card
  • Passport
  • Military identification

 

If you live in Idaho, but don't have an Idaho driver's license, you can apply for one to move the process along. If you have an expired ID, you can get it renewed. Follow this link for more details of the ID requirements.
