Filing state taxes in two states

I lived in Alabama from Jan-Nov and finished off the rest of the year in Georgia. I filled my state taxes and I'm being taxed my full years income in both GA and AL even though I only stayed in GA one month out of the year. Now I'm going to have to pay $2500 in state taxes for GA. Is this right and if not what can I do since I've already filed?

You can file amended state returns for both Alabama and Georgia to fix both states. Wait until your returns are accepted before starting the amend process.

See: How do I amend my 2020 return?

In Personal Info, click Edit next to your name and on Tell us the states(s) you lived in, make sure you have both Alabama and Georgia and the correct dates of residency.

Each state will allow you to split your income to show how much you earned while living in that state. Divide your income in both the AL and GA sections.
