Finished my fed return. Opened my state return. A random income number has appeared in my state return. Not the same as my Federal return. How do I fix this?

Is that "random" number the number from box 16 of your W-2?

No. Really random and not related to the information on my federal return. More than twice my actual income.

Try closing TurboTax, clear your Cache and Cookies if you are using TurboTax Online, and reopen TurboTax. You can also try a different browser.

Also, make sure you have ran all updates.

One thing that fixes a lot of problems is to delete the W2 or 1099 and enter it again manually. Especially if you imported a form. Oh and if you change anything on the federal side then start the state return over.
