For my Edward Jones forms I need the state ID for the state of Michigan to complete Box 8

Go back and edit the 1099-INT in the federal section...then go thru all of the followup pages .

One of the followup pages will ask..."Which state is your $xxx.xx of exempt interest from?"

To answer that you have to know what states issued the bonds you hold in your account.

IF none of them are actual MI-sourced bonds, you just go to the end of the list of states and select "More than one state"

I some of them are MI-sourced bonds, you can stills elect "More than one state"........or you can Break out the $$ that were only from MI and list those $$ separately....but YOU have to figure out the exact $ amount from MI bonds from your EJ statements to do that.

Example for NC below:
