Question

For the State of IL, there is a line item for IL-1040 Schedule M Line 27. It is the 'Ridesharing money included in income'. What amount do I put in this box?

If you are part of a rideshare program at work and get paid by your company, if the amount is included in your taxable income (1040Box1) you can exclude the income as it is not taxable in Illinois.  This does not apply to uber and lyft drivers but work sponsored commuter programs.

Enter the amount of ridesharing money and benefits (other than salary) received by a driver in a ridesharing arrangement using a motor vehicle if these amounts are included in your Form IL-1040, Line 1.  Do not include income received from ridesharing companies.

Does that mean, that this does not include gross or net income? It means only what the rider gives us?
