Live in Florida, have for over ten years.  In January of 2024 I sold land in Missouri that my parents deeded me a decade or more ago.  Made 76k in capital gains after deductions cost of land.   Not certain how to calculate what I may owe Missouri for the sale of the property.  I’m thinking the form MO-NRI, a Missouri 1040 and copy of wife’s W-2 and my 1099(retired army and not working for a while now),  but how do I actually calculate what may owe Missouri.  The form MO-NRI just gets me to a percentage in part C, which is 1% for my wife and myself.  What to do???

In the Personal Info section of TurboTax, enter your state of residence as FL, and indicate that you had "other state income" from MO.  This will prompt the program to produce a non-resident MO tax return.

Complete your federal return first, including your capital gain.  It should then flow to Line G of your MO-NRI.  The TurboTax program will calculate your MO tax.
