Question

GA SUI Required for a single member LLC company that has filed for Sub S status with the IRS?

I recently set up a new business as a single member LLC in the state of Georgia for myself as the only employee.  For tax purposes, I filed form 2553 with the IRS asking to be granted tax status as a Sub-S corp (pending).   Assuming the IRS grants my request, will I need to start paying GA State Unemployment taxes as a Sub-S with only 1 employee (myself)?

I'll page Champ @DoninGA but you most likely will since you will be an employee of your corporation.

There may be an exception, however, for the sole shareholder of a corporation.

Sorry this is a section of the GA tax code I am not familiar with to help out.
