Victims of severe winter storms, flooding, and mudslides in California beginning January 8, 2023, now have until October 16, 2023, to file various Federal individual and business tax returns and make tax payments.

See this IRS news release, which was last updated on February 23, 2023, for more details and to confirm whether your situation qualifies. The list of affected areas does include San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles Counties.

California has extended the filing deadline for state returns to May 15, 2023. See here for more details.
