Have not received 2 Nd stimulus checks. Do I enter any information on return ready to be filed ?

Can I file return without having received 2nd stimulus check for 2020 ?
Current year congressional stimulus, will it be based on 2020 income taxes ?

Yes, you are able to file your return without having received the second stimulus check.

In the Federal Review section of the tax return, you will be asked about the payments that you have received.

The program will calculate the second Recovery Rebate Credit and and add it to the tax return.

 

The new Democrat proposal mandates the treasury to rely on 2019 and 2020 tax returns to calculate how much you could get for the third round of stimulus checks.
