Question

Hi, I am a resident of Puerto Rico where I file my taxes. I need to file federal taxes due to the nature of my income but should receive full reimb. Why do I need to pay?

What type of income do you report on the federal tax return? If your income is more than your deductions you will have a tax liability, unless you qualify for a credit. Is there a treaty that exempts your income from taxation that would allow you a credit?

Hi, since I am a federal government employee, I have to file taxes with the IRS. However, my tax responsibility is in Puerto Rico where taxes are 33%, I am supposed to receive full reimb of federal deductions through form 1116, which I do not see available.
