how do I Amend federal return but not state return

Hello, I filed my 2023 federal return but have not yet filed my state return. However, when I amended my federal return it also updated the state return and saved it as amended. i need to recover my original return so I can correct the info and file my state return correctly. How do I do that?

    Depending on what state you are filing for, the amended state return may look the same as the original one. I suggest you print it out and see if there is anything unique about it that would indicate it is amended. If not, you can file it as though it was the original return. Otherwise, you could try deleting it and then add it in again.
