how do i correct state residence for florida

Since you don't need to file an income tax return for Florida, there is not a place in TurboTax online to correct this for Florida specifically. However, if you lived in another state in 2024 prior to your move, you will need to file a part-year resident return.

You can correct your address here:

1. While logged into your TurboTax account, navigate to the left of the screen, under 2024 Taxes, choose My Info

2. At the top of the screen, under Your Info appears your name, click your name to expand options, then choose Edit

Next, open your former state's return and the address change will prompt the software to suggest you change your residency.  You can select "Change residency" and provide information on the change.
