Question

How do I define the states where we do business? We have locations in UT and CA and that’s it but we receive revenue from clients in many different states.

Do I need to list every state where we have clients? We only have locations in UT and CA. We receive revenue from clients in many different states.

    Each state has different laws so you will need to review the laws for the states where you have income or business presence. Your product or service also affects the taxation. For example: sales tax is collected by online companies and paid to each state where a customer made a purchase.
