How do I enter 529 contributions for Virginia for 2024?

To enter your 529 contributions in the Virginia portion of TurboTax Online: 

1. Open TurboTax Online
2. Select  Tax Home in the left pane
3. Select the dropdown to the right of State Taxes
4. Select  Pick up where you left off, Review/Edit or the edit pencil.  (If you're immediately taken inside of the Virginia interview, select Your State Returns beneath State Taxes in the left pane)
5. On the Status of your state returns page, select Continue to the right of Virginia
6. Proceed through the Virginia interview until you get to the Here's the income that Virginia handles differently page
7. Under Education, select Start to the right of Commonwealth Savers (Section 529) Plan
8. On the next 529 screens, enter all relevant information
9. On the Here's the income that Virginia handles differently page, your Commonwealth Savers Account Plan deduction amount, if any, will appear
