Kansas offers three separate property tax relief programs for Kansas homeowners. To qualify for any of the programs, you (and your spouse) must be a resident of Kansas for the entire tax year, owned a home, paid property tax and meet income and other requirements.
To qualify for the Homestead Claim, you (and your spouse) must have no more than a total household income of $40,500 and must meet one of the following three requirements:
(1) You (or your spouse) must have been born before January 1, 1968. (2) You (or your spouse) must have been totally and permanently disabled all of 2023. (3) You (and your spouse) have at least one dependent child who lived with you all year and was under 18 all of 2023.
