How do I find where to file state taxes for free? It keeps taking me in circles.

There seems to be a free version and that’s all I need. But it won’t let me choose that option.

You are posting your question from online Deluxe. If you used Deluxe for your federal return you have to pay for preparing your state return--it will not be free.

If you do not want to use TT -- or pay the TT fee -- for preparing the state you can delete the state and try going on the state's tax site to see if you can file the state return there. You will need information from your federal return, so print it out.
