How do I get the New York tax credit?

Which New York Credit?  New York has a number of income tax credits that you may be eligible for.  In order to claim them, walk through your New York State return and answer all the questions to see which credit you qualify for.

Or did you live in a state other than New York, but worked in New York and you are trying to claim a credit for taxes paid to New York on your home state return.  To do this, you will just need to file your New York return first, then go through your home state return and enter the amount of taxes you paid to NY or the amount of income that was taxed by NY (Depending on the state as each state does things differently) and then your credit for taxes paid will be calculated by TurboTax.
