How do I split allocate between 2 states with the automatic unemployment addition of 10,200 to both MN

It depends on your status and who paid your unemployment.

 

If you are filing a part-year Minnesota return, allocate to MN all unemployment benefits you received while living in MN, whether paid by MN or another state.

 

If you are filing a nonresident MN return, allocate MN unemployment only.

 

Other states treat unemployment in different ways. Without knowing what your other state is—and what state paid your unemployment—I can’t tell you how to allocate the rest of your unemployment.
