How do I transfer itemized medical deduction amount from the federal return to the MA state return?

 You need to enter the Medical Expenses in the Deductions & Credits section on your federal return. TurboTax will transfer the amounts to your Massachusetts return.

Taxpayers who itemize their deductions on their federal income tax returns may deduct from Massachusetts adjusted gross income an amount equal to the deduction allowed under Code § 213 currently in effect for qualifying medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of their federal adjusted gross income.

If you are taking the Standard Deduction on your federal tax return, the medical expenses reported on your federal tax return will not flow to the MA state tax return.
