It's easy to view in TurboTax Online:

  1. Select Tax Home in the left pane
  2. On the Hi, let's keep working on your taxes! screen, select the dropdown on the right side of the State Taxes box, then select StartContinue, or Review/Edit
  3. In the left pane, scroll down and select the dropdown to the right of Tax Tools
  4. Select Tools
  5. On the  Tools Center popup, select the View Tax Summary link
  6. Now, in the left pane, select VA Tax Summary

In the Summary of Your Virginia Taxes, you should see the $12,000 age deduction included in Subtractions from income.

I’m not getting the $12,000 age deduction for myself and spouse but I did in past tax years. Has tax law for Virginia changed for 24. If not how do insure age is recognized.

If you or your spouse were born on or before Jan. 1, 1960, you may qualify to claim an age deduction of up to $12,000 each. The age deduction you may claim will depend upon your birth date, filing status, and income.
