How I file if I lived in a different state for part of the year?

Lived in TX from 5/1-10/15 (moved from MY to TX back to NY)- worked in TX 8/10-10/3 - lived in NY the rest of the year worked in NY 1/1-4/26

Texas doesn't have a state income tax, so you don't have to worry about filing a Texas return.  For New York, you need to file a Part-Year Resident Return.  In the New York state return, there will be a section of the program where you allocate your New York Income.  Only include the income you earned working in New York.  Your income while living and working in Texas is not taxable by New York.
