How many times do I need to pay Turbotax to get my taxes filed?

Hi,

I have already payed $45 per state, total $90, for filing my state taxes but after paying that when it came to filing my return I am being charged $25 per state to complete the filing. It is really confusing as to what the actual charge of filing state taxes is and there was no information about further charges when I paid the $45 per state. Could you please help, am I doing something wrong?

Sorry that is right. You should have bought Deluxe or Higher. Those come with one free state program download to do unlimited state returns (in that state). Basic does not come with a free state. Then you need to do a return in a different state? Yes you have to buy another state program.

THEN each state return (including the first one) is 19.99 to efile, usually goes up to 24.99 March 1. Or you can print and mail state for free. So yes it can add up.
