Question

How should i enter tax exempt interest for a bond fund? i entered multiple states but still says needs review.

Might be nothing to do with your entries for the tax-exempt part (box 11 and the followup to set as Multiple States)....Maybe it's this..

 

Edit that 1099-DIV again...look two things

1) if box 1a is empty/blank on the main form, the Online software seems to require that must have 0.00 in it .

2) if you have a box 1b entry, then box 1a must be greater or equal to box 1b

Could be some other stuff, usually the software will tell you exactly what it is having a problem with when you go thru the Federal Review and error check if it's something else.
