Trying to follow instructions to create the MOCK copies.

How to prepare MFS retuns when 1099-B DIV and CAP GAINS are imported as JOINT?

You would think to just divide by 2, but this can't be right?

You may need to make a manual entry for your 1099-B and 1099-Div income in each of your MFS returns to each report half of the joint income, or you may be able to adjust the amount in each of your individual state interviews.

In your state interview, look for a page titled Income that xxx Handles Differently to make adjustments from Federal amounts.

Thank you for answering.  Entering separate incomes is simple , but what about capital gains, Dividends, property taxes, and other deductions?  Go through and divide by 2 or proportionally I suppose.  What about CARRY OVER  items?  (TT Premier) Yes, the std deduction is used.  TURBO TAX did this for the filler in the past.  Why did they change???
