Question

Husband active duty, I have a California drivers license. I have worked in Washington state since moving here for his work. Do I pay california for taxes or Washington?

We have lived out of California all of 2022 but I have my drivers license there and registered to vote. Yet I have worked in washington state and they dont take state taxes out here. Do I file as a washington residence or will it be California and they tax it? It was about 4,000.

As a military spouse who has relocated because of an active duty spouse, you can choose to use your spouse's home state regardless of where you are actually living/working. Please see this TurboTax FAQ.

So what is your spouse's home of record?
