Question

I am having some challenges with my Maryland return where it is showing that I owe $6314. I need some assistance with the Non Maryland Income Allocation section

I own a rental property in maryland - but live in NJ. I have never had to owe anything to maryland. always nets to zero. now this year it says I owe $6314 and I had a net loss on the property of 287

    Take a look at the MD return and see what it is showing for income. Backtrack to determine where the income is coming from. Did some wages or stock sales make their way into your MD return? Review your MD allocations.
