I am just starting my taxes - Turbotax. How could I possibly have any underpayment?

Pay no attention to any refund/balance due, except as a monitor that when you enter something it might change, until you have completed your return. For instance, you could enter just your W-2 wages and all of a sudden you owe $5,000 - well you aren't done yet, you haven't entered any tax withholdings. So wait until the end before swooning over the refund/balance due monitor 🙂
