It depends upon the type of California return that was filed. If you filed Form 540, your 2018 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) will be on Side 2, Line 17. If you filed Form 540 2EZ, your 2018 taxable income will be on Side 2, Line 16. If you filed Form 540 NR long form, your 2018 AGI will be on Side 2, Line 17.
