I believe TurboTax is making a calculation error: MN state taxes

The MN state website states that if you move to MN, you must pay MN tax on your income from MN sources and/or your income while living in MN.

https://www.revenue.state.mn.us/minnesota-taxable-income

I moved to MN in August - the same time I quit my old job and started my own business. For some reason, TurboTax is stating that my MN Taxable Income is several times larger than the amount I made while in MN. None of the income I had prior to my move had anything to do with MN.

I was on the phone with a support person for over an hour who verified I entered everything correctly and decided there was nothing more he could do.

This seems pretty straight forward. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.

MN calculates your tax liability based on your full year income and then prorates it based on the income actually earned in MN. The forms will look like you are being taxed on your full income until you get to M1NR, lines 28-32. Please do a print preview of your state return and look to see that you have this form and it is showing the correct ratio.

Thank you, Amy!

The turbo tax interface made it seem like it was wrong, but your help made it make sense.
