I bought a new furnace last year. How do I put that on my tax for a deduction?

    If the new furnace is for your personal residence and meets the requirements, you may be able to claim the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit, or Residential Energy Credit. 

    Both credits use Form 5695.

     

    You would enter the information for a credit under

    Your Home

    Home Energy Credits

    If this was purchased for a rental property, add it as a asset for the rental.
