Which state were you unable to e-file? Please respond to this thread for further assistance.

Which program are you using?  If you are using one of the online versions, you don't pay for e-filing, you pay for the preparation itself.  If your situation is such that Minnesota cannot accept your return e-filed, you will print it out, sign it, and then mail it in.

If you are on desktop software (TurboTax CD/Download), there may be a separate e-filing fee for the state.  If you paid that, and cannot e-file because the return does not qualify to be e-filed for some reason, you will need to contact customer service because we cannot issue refunds in this public forum.  Please call in this experience to our phone customer support service by using the instructions in the following link: How do I contact TurboTax?

However, if you are supposed to be able to e-file and you are getting a diagnostic error or a reject, please provide us with the specific message you are getting to assist you further, or, again, you can opt to mail in your return.  Sometimes at this stage in the season, either mailing in the return or filing an extension could be a better option to ensure your return is considered on time.

Remember, as long as a mailed-in return is postmarked on or before April 18th, it will be considered on time even if the taxing authority receives it later than that.
