Question

I did not work in Maryland in 2023, but it’s showing me a tax return for MD. Why is that? What do I do to fix that? I’ve never filed taxes before, not sure what to do.

I did live in MD, but then moved to NV in August.

Be sure that you indicated that you lived in MD from Jan - July and then NV from Aug - Dec in the My Info section.

Generally, you are required to file a Maryland income tax return if:

  • You are or were  a Maryland resident;
  • You are required to file a federal income tax return; and
  • Your Maryland gross income equals or exceeds the level listed below for your filing status. The filing levels also apply to nonresident taxpayers who are required to file a Maryland return.
