Question

I don't see the option for 529 contributions within the IL return. Where do I find that?

In past years, I was able to take a deduction for 529 contributions for the State of Illinois. I don't see the option now, even though it's qualifies as a deduction.

    Here is how you can enter your Illinois 529 contributions.

     

    1. Navigate to the Illinois section of TurboTax (State Taxes > Your State Returns > Illinois)
    2. Choose Income, Edit
    3. Expand Education
    4. Start or Revisit College savings and prepaid tuition plan contributions
    5. Enter the information from the 529 contribution
