I don’t understand what they are asking for on the state taxes form . Something about the date . Thank you for your help

I’m filing my federal taxes, they asked my to add to my deduction for the percentage of our state tax.
Some how the date doesn’t jive, because 01/01/2023 - 12/31/2023 is more than 365 days. Thank you for yr help

If you are in the Schedule A interview, the interview wants to know your sales tax rate, for your state and your city. For example, in Texas, the state sales tax rate is 6.25% and my city adds 2% to that, for a total of 8.25%. I believe that TurboTax is looking for the 8.25%.

Don't worry about the year - some years are 365 days and other years (like this year) will be 366.

I am puzzled. "01/01/2023 - 12/31/2023" is most certainly 365 days, if you count both the start date and the end date - see Time and Date.
