I filed my state taxes without realizing my work took out taxes for a school distritct i dont live in anymore. I tried changing and it gave me a payment voucher to pay?

It gave me payment vouchers for both school disctricts even though i paid more then what my tax rate would be for the school district i live in. So im unsure why i would have to pay into both and mainly why i wouldnt get back the school distrect i dont live in.

What state?

If Ohio, your resident school district (SD) does not give you any credit for tax paid to the wrong SD. You have to file two SD returns (form SD100), one to get a refund and the other to pay your residence SD tax.

You will probably have to mail both SD returns.
