You entered Illinois withholding greater than 20% of Illinois wages. Please review your W-2 and change the incorrect entry. box 15 says IL and IN. 16 is blank for IL but IN has 23166.97.

You have IN income in IN and should have IN tax paid. Look at IL line 17, that should be blank or zero since IL wages are zero. Make sure your w2 is entered correctly since the program believes you paid way too much in IL tax.

IL is blank for state wages but says 1146.75 state income tax. IN has state wages as 23,166.97 and state income tax is 729.77. should I leave blank for IL?

    Not sure.

What is the amount in Box 1 of the W-2?  Is the amount $23,166.97 or something else?

Are you preparing an Indiana Resident tax return or an Illinois Resident tax return?  Or something else?
