Question

I had one 1099 from MN, do I need to file MN state taxes?

I think I made a mistake on my taxes, which I rushed through and already filed.

I live in WI and I had one 1099 from MN, do I need to file MN state taxes? MN 1099 was for $600.

If I do need to file MN state taxes, is there a way to do this on TurboTax easily? Do I also need to somehow remove the 1099 from my WI state taxes?

Thanks.

What type of 1099 was it? A MISC or a NEC? And when you say it was from MN, was the income earned in MN or WI? If the 1099 is just issued from someone in MN, this doesn't require a MN return unless you earned the income while physically in MN.

It was a 1099-NEC and I was physically in MN. Do I need to amend my tax return? Do I need to somehow remove that income from my WI return and file for MN? How do I do that on Turbo Tax?

Yes.  You will need to file a MN return, which won't be amended.  To do this you will go back into your return and click add a state and select MN.  Once you walk through and do the MN return, you will go back and select Amend a return.  You will then only amend your WI state.  On your MN return you will have to pay taxes on the 1099-NEC, on your WI return you will take a credit for the taxes you pay to MN which will keep the money from being fully double taxed.
