Question

I have been an AZ res more than 3/4ths of the year, but my fulltime job is still in CA. Do I file my taxes as a CA Res or do I file as an AZ Res with out of state income?

For 2022, you file a part year resident return for both states. Going forward (2023+),  you file a AZ resident return and a CA non-resident return (file as an AZ Res with out of state income).

CA & AZ are reverse credit states.  That is, CA will give you a credit for tax (on the same income) paid to AZ.
