Question

I have lived PA but I got new job in MI from May. My house, car registrations, wife and kids are still PA. Most of weekend I am PA. How do I file state tax?

Michigan defines a nonresident as follows:

 

Nonresident

 

A person whose permanent home for the entire year was in another state is a nonresident. Michigan income tax must be paid on income earned from Michigan sources.
 

Pennsylvania defines a resident as follows:

 

Resident 

 

Defined as a person that is either domiciled in Pennsylvania or has a permanent abode in Pennsylvania and spends a total of 183 or more days in Pennsylvania.

In TurboTax Online, you will likely file a full-year Pennsylvania resident tax return and a nonresident Michigan tax return.

 

Michigan and Pennsylvania do not have a reciprocal agreement.

But note that if you live 183 days or more of the tax year in MI, then you must file your MI return as a resident.  Here's a link to the relevant Michigan statute:
