Question

I live in Massachusetts. I have health insurance with my parents, but they live in NH. Do I still qualify for my 1099 HC in Massachusetts?

Yes, as long as you meet the minimum requirement for Health Coverage. The 1099-HC form is a Massachusetts document which serves as proof of health insurance coverage for MA adult residents. Every MA resident who has insurance will receive an annual 1099-HC form which is completed and provided by your insurance carrier.

If you received one of these by your parents insurance carrier, it should be proof that you meet the Minimum Creditable Coverage (MCC) that Massachusetts requires. .
