Question

I live in New Jersey but did uber Eats in Pennsylvania. Do I have to file Pennsylvania or just New Jersey?

I don’t have a 1099 but must enter my $1300 uber Eats income under self employment. It doesn’t ask which state. But earlier when it asked did I make income in another state I answered yes and entered Pennsylvania. So now i have to file federal, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Q. So now i have to file federal, New Jersey and Pennsylvania?

A. Yes.

NJ will give you a credit, or partial credit,  for what you pay PA.  So there will be little or no double taxation.  But you have the hassle and cost of filing 2 state returns.

Prepare the non resident (PA) return first.
