I live in Rhode Island but work in Massachusetts. Do I claim my state taxes in Massachusetts?

It depends.

If your Massachusetts sourced income was over $8,000, then you will need to file a return in MA.  You would file as a nonresident.

MA Nonresident filing

If you do have a filing requirement, be sure to prepare your nonresident return first.

Then prepare your resident return to ensure you are able to claim a credit for the taxes paid to the nonresident state.  This can be done in the credits section of the state interview for your resident state.
