Question

I lived in California and moved to Texas in December 2018. I lived and worked in Texas for 9 months and moved back to California. Do I have to pay Ca state tax on the money earned while living and working in Texas?

According to this article written by a Turbo Tax expert, you will not pay California tax for the work you performed in Texas. Make the residency dates are correct when you put you information in the MY INFO section in Turbo Tax.

I have put correct dates, but it is taxing all income, not just the income made in CA.  Is there a place where I can out an adjustment?

Since you moved to Texas in 2018 and worked in Texas for all of 2019 there is no reason for you to file a California return.

Please check your information in the Personal Info to show that you did not make money in other states during 2019 and lived only in Texas.
