Solved

I lived in Florida ( 9 months) where there’s no state taxes and 3 months in Missouri where there are state taxes. How do I dispute my liability - I feel it’s too high.

$3200 seems a bit excessive for such a short period of time and feels inclusive of the money made in the state of FL.

True...make sure you are using the MO-NRI to report the income you received (Wages, Interest Dividends, etc) after you moved to MO.

Missouri is one of a couple states that has part-year residents choose to file either as Full-year resident, and taking a credit for taxes paid to the other state...or as a full-yr Non-resident...reporting only all of their income received after moving to MO.

Make sure you are using the Nonresident choice........if you take the full-yr resident route, MO will tax all your FL income too, with no credit for income taxes paid to FL, since FL has no income tax.

You should have reported only the income you received while you were a resident of Missouri.

If you lived and worked in MO for only part of the year then you should prepare a part-year return for MO.  You are subject to MO state tax for the income you received while living in MO, but not for the time when you were living/working in FL.

The Missouri Form MO-NRI to report income only received while a MO resident is not yet updated for tax year 2024.  You need to wait for MO forms and schedules are updated.

Go to this TurboTax website for forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg
