Question

I'm a Seattle, WA resident. On my W2, I paid "WA S Pnsion" local taxes. TurboTax does not offer WA on the state list for locality. How do I override this?

I have info in blocks 18, 19, and 20 of my W2. TurboTax insists I enter a corresponding state for the locality I was taxed in, but does not offer Washington as an option.

Washington does not have any state income taxes for individuals and as such, there are no filing requirements there.

Therefore, if you lived and worked in Washington for the entire year, you will only have to file a federal income tax return.

States without income tax for individuals

As such, you will not need to enter any of the state and local amounts into TurboTax from your W-2 form. Delete these entries and you will be able to move forward with your federal tax return.
