I’m active duty military and I’m claiming state taxes for Colorado but my Colorado state ID is expired. I have a California drivers can I use that or it will ruin my state taxes for Colorado

Most of the states are requiring state ID information to verify a person's identity.  The ID information does not necessarily have to come from their state (in your case, Colorado), but it does need to be unexpired.  A California license will not prevent you from filing a Colorado return, nor would that in and of itself slow down return processing.  However, all states have implemented identity theft prevention protocols and at random will sometimes send a letter to a taxpayer who has filed a return to verify their identity with the state before their return is finished processing.  If the unlikely event that you are chosen for this, it is not because you had a valid California license.
