Question

I'm filling out state (ha!) taxes for the District of Columbia. Under "allocate DC deductions," I'm told to enter DH's portion of our deductions. How do I calculate that?

FYI, DH and I are both employed, with a roughly 40/60 split in salary.

For the DC allocation, if there are any identifiable deductions, you would want to allocate it to the correct person .  However, a percentage split is perfectly acceptable.
