I have been working from home in 2020 and am filing taxes now.

I lived in DC for half the year and Texas for the second half. Because I was working remote, my official location on my W2 is still DC, but I can prove my Texas resident status.

Do I have to submit taxes in both states? And can I get a refund on taxes paid in DC since Texas doesn't have a state income tax?

File a Part-Year Resident State Return to DC and report the amount of your income you earned while you lived there

Since you lived in Texas part of the year, you should get a refund from DC on tax withheld for the portion of your income earned while you lived in Texas.

Texas has no Income Tax, so no return needs to be filed there.
